ELP Highlight – May 2015

Sarah Myers Louisiana TCMy name is Sarah Myers. I am currently an intern at “The Bridge” Teen Challenge Induction Center for Women located in Franklin, LA. I was a drug addict for 10 years—But God! He rescued me and snatched me out of the darkness. I completed 12 months of Teen Challenge as a student and started the ELP program nearly 10 months ago. Since that time, I have learned how to be an effective leader of Teen Challenge. ELP has taught me the lessons I have needed to take to become a team player, to recognize, understand, and apply core values, to know how to effectively draw healthy boundaries, to lead like Jesus, and to experience God fully. Each lesson I have learned has brought me closer to becoming the effective, consistent, loving woman of God and leader that I was always meant to be. Because of ELP I am more confident and experienced in being a leader. This program is effectively raising up leaders all over the world and I thank God for it! Now, I am to walk in the calling God has placed on my life prepared to be an effective, Emerging Leader!

ELP Reps Link – May 2015

Level I Adult

This month we continue with our 2 month core course, Personal Boundaries and our text: Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud. This book is a must read for any human living on planet earth! Your Level I participants will find this book meaty and challenging but it will rock their world! This is why we give 2 MONTHS to allow participants to complete this course – giving them time to reflect on the health of their boundaries and apply Dr. Cloud’s practical and wise principles. You will have great discussions in your weekly ELP meetings!

Level I Adolescent

Our course for the Adolescent track is Building Relationships and our text: Habitudes #2 – The Art of Connecting with Others by Dr. Tim Elmore. The images Dr. Elmore provides are memorable and powerful in conveying key leadership principles. We want to communicate to our students that in the ELP, leadership starts first with leading yourself well – then with connecting with others before you try to lead them.

Monthly Book Orders and Grades

Adult Reps you get a book order break this month on the core courses – but for elective courses, and for the adolescent centers, I hope your order is already in! Southeast region Rep’s can go to Google Drive and search for ELP Monthly Order Form and Grade Sheet Edited. Look for your center’s name in the tabs at the bottom and fill in your center’s information. No need to save or email the spreadsheet (Google Drive saves it and I can access the info from my Drive). If you place an initial order on the form and update the order later (i.e. add 2 more books) after we have ordered your books, please send Kerry Pevey (ELP Admin Asst) an email at kerry.pevey@teenchallenge.cc. Blessings! Come on Reps, get your stuff in on time, I know you can do it!

Level II – May 2015

Core Courses

Our next Core Course is Practical Christianity and our book: Ordering Your Private World by Gordon MacDonald. This book should be called “you’re about to get your private world rocked!” As leaders taking on ever increasing levels of responsibility, we will implode at some point if our private worlds are not in order. Gordon will walk you through some very practical areas and give helpful insights into bringing greater order to your life and leadership.

Your first post for this course will be up on the forum Monday, May 18th.
