Rep’s Link

Welcome

This month we welcome new Rep’s Mike Spivey, Level I & II graduate from Jacksonville Men’s and Holly Williams Level I and ELC graduate and staff at Pensacola Women’s to the ELP. Thank you for answering the call to raise up the next generation of leaders within Teen Challenge.

Level I Adult

This month we start our new course Discover Your Gifts and our text: Discover Your God-given Gifts by Don and Katie Fortune. You will discover which of the seven motivational gifts listed in Romans 12:6-8 were given to you by our Heavenly Father at your birth. Why do you enjoy doing some things and do other things simply because they have to be done? These gifts are actually the key to understanding the very motivating forces in your life. You will understand the vast difference between the gifts of the Spirit, the gifts of Christ to the church and your personal, innate gifts you have had from birth.

Level I Adolescent

Our course for the Adolescent track is Leading Others and our text: HabHabitudes 3-FBitudes #3 – The Art of Leading Others by Dr. Tim Elmore. The images Dr. Elmore provides are memorable and powerful in conveying key leadership principles. We want to communicate to our students that in the ELP, leadership starts first with leading yourself well, then with connecting with others and finally, we lead those under our care.

Monthly Book Orders and Grades

Southeast region Rep’s can go to Google Drive and search for ELP Monthly Order Form and Grade Sheet Edited. Look for your center’s name in the tabs at the bottom and fill in your information. If you place an initial order on the form and update the order later (i.e. add 2 more books) after we have ordered your books, please send and email to andree.aiken@teenchallenge.cc. All new applications must be in by the 10th of the month for students starting the 15th.

Rep’s Link – Dec 2015

Welcome

This month we have three Teen Challenges implement the ELP on their campuses – Primrose Hill – MO, Delmarva – DE and a re-start at North Carolina Boy’s Academy. We welcome Susie Baier, Saint Clair Sterling and Bush Coleman as ELP Representatives respectively. Thank you for answering the call to raise up the next generation of leaders in Teen Challenge!

Level I Adult

Our new course is Core Values and our text: Our Core Values by Dr. Jerry Nance. The core values of an organization define the essence of the organization; they are a very small set of guiding principles that have a profound impact on how everyone in the organization thinks and behaves. In this course, the emerging leaders will learn our values of integrity, compassion, community, vision, stewardship, faith and servanthood.

Level I Adolescent

Our course for the Adolescent track is Leading Others and our text: Habitudes III – the Art of Leading Others by Dr. Tim Elmore. Your emerging student leaders will learn how to lead those in their care. Habitudes furnishes images that teach them leadership truths which will enable them to wisely influence their world.

Level II Link – June 2015

Welcome

This month we welcome Shannon White (Columbus Girls) and Mike Spivey (Jacksonville) to the Level II. Shannon has been serving with the Columbus Girls for 3 years and Mike has been serving at Jacksonville for a year. Welcome leaders! This is the level of the ELP where you will truly learn self-leadership and personal responsibility.

Core Courses

For those of you who have not returned the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership DVD’s to the ELP Office, please return them soonest. If not, we’ll charge your center the cost of the DVD’s ($299.99) starting Jun 15th.

Our next Core Course is Ethics and Integrity and our book: Integrity by Dr. Henry Integrity PICCloud. Clouds’ byline for Integrity is “the courage to manage the demands of reality.” Most people define integrity as “doing what is right when no one is looking” but another, even greater, perspective Cloud gives is “integrity is integrated character; who a person is will ultimately determine if brains, talents, competencies, energy, effort, deal-making abilities, and opportunities will succeed.”

Your first post for this course will be up on the forum Monday, June 15th. You’ll make an initial post and then respond to someone’s post.

Farewell

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Brittany Hughes, ELP Rep at Ft. Myers Women’s Center who served for 4 years. Brittany has served the students and staff well both at her local campus and at our ELP Summits. Brittany will be missed.

Welcome

This month we welcome 4 new ELP Rep’s; Rod Hughes (Tallahassee), Dan Williams (Middle GA), Nicole Petty (Southwest FL W) and Jenny Northern (Columbus W). Welcome leaders! Thank you for answering the call to raise up sons and daughters on your campuses and to seed to the nations. Huge responsibility, but with the Holy Spirit’s guidance we can do it!

Level I Adult

This month our core course is Team Building and our text is The 17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player by John Maxwell. In this book Maxwell outlines the successes of team players who have been:

  • Intentional – making every action count toward a long-term goal
  • Relational – focused on others
  • Selfless – willing to take a subordinate role for the sake of the team
  • Tenacious – hardworking and optimistic in the face of setbacks

Maxwell shows how these qualities, and many others, impact the team and its success. The 17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player is not feel-good platitudes and abstract thinking but concrete actions designed to improve the value of every team player.

Level I Adolescent

Our course for the Adolescent track is Leading Others and our text: Habitudes 3 – The Art of Leading Others by Tim Elmore. This book is the final in a series of 3 books. The leadership journey begins with self-leadership. We must lead ourselves before we lead anyone else. Next we learn to lead up – in relationships with those over us. Then, we learn to lead and influence those around us. Finally, we lead those under our care.

Level I Adult

This month’s course is Boundaries and our text: Boundaries by Dr. Henry boundariesCloud. Christians often focus so much on being loving and giving that they forget their own limits and limitations. Are you in control of your life? Do people take advantage of you? Do you have trouble saying no? Boundaries are personal property lines that define who you are and who you are not, and influence all areas of your life. No need to purchase the workbook, there is a study guide at elp.tc under Rep’s Resources.

Level I Adolescent

Our course for the Adolescent track is Leading Others and our text: Habitudes III – The Habitudes 3-FBArt of Leading Others by Tim Elmore. In this book the emerging leaders will learn to lead those under their care. Images of The Mirror Effect, Rivers and Flood, the Choir Director and other exciting images will help emerging leaders see the value of servant leadership and how we lead others.

Rep’s Link – Jan 2014

Happy New Year everyone! We thank God for the opportunity we have to identify, equip and train sons and daughters to identify their God-given purpose and live out their destinies in God’s kingdom. This month we will not have our ELP Revolutionized Leadership webinar because we are changing to a new webinar hosting software – Google Hangouts. We will be testing the system and making some tweaks so look out for an email when we start-up again in February (Feb 21st at 10:30am eastern).

Level I Adult

We will continue with our 2-month course Knowing and Understanding God’s Will and our text: Experiencing God by Blackaby, Blackaby & King. For those of you who have elective book orders, go ahead and enter them in the Google spreadsheet and I’ll get these ordered for you.

Level I Adolescent

Our next in the Habitudes series is Leading Others and our text: Habitudes III – “The Art of Leading Others by Dr. Tim Elmore. Dr. Elmore quotes “sociologists tell us the most introverted people will influence 10,000 others in an average lifetime;” so how do you influence others? This course teaches the emerging leaders how to influence those in their care.
